Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of females in the City of Monash compared to Greater Melbourne shows that there was a higher proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.

The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in the City of Monash and Greater Melbourne were:
- A smaller percentage of females aged 85 and over (55.8% compared to 58.1%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 60 to 64 (5.4% compared to 7.0%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 65 to 69 (7.9% compared to 9.3%)
