Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of females in the City of Monash compared to Clayton shows that there was a higher proportion of females who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 6.7% of the female population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.9% for Clayton.
The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance in the City of Monash and Clayton were:
- A smaller percentage of females aged 70 to 74 (12.9% compared to 24.9%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 80 to 84 (35.6% compared to 45.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (21.4% compared to 28.5%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 65 to 69 (7.9% compared to 14.8%)
Emerging groups
The major differences in the female age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2011 and 2021 in the City of Monash were in the age groups:
- 85 and over (+648 females)
- 80 to 84 (+343 females)
- 75 to 79 (+194 females)
