4,103 people living in Ocean Reef in 2016 were employed, of which 59% worked full-time and 37% part-time.

Dominant groups
The size of Ocean Reef's labour force in 2016 was 4,407, of which 1,499 were employed part-time and 2,420 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in Ocean Reef in 2016 compared to Marmion shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 93.1% of the labour force was employed, and 6.9% unemployed, compared with 94.7% and 5.3% respectively for Marmion.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the population in Ocean Reef in 2016 shows that there was a higher proportion in the labour force (69.0%) compared with Marmion (65.0%).
