Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Western Sydney (LGA) in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (141,358 females or 27.3%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (118,276 females or 22.8%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (78,029 females or 15.1%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 337,663 females in total or 65.1% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, Greater Sydney employed 32.3% in Professionals; 20.6% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 13.3% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Western Sydney (LGA) and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (22.8% compared to 20.6%)
- A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (15.1% compared to 13.3%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (27.3% compared to 32.3%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Managers (9.8% compared to 12.7%)
