Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Liverpool City in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (9,429 males or 19.8%)
  • Machinery Operators And Drivers (7,837 males or 16.5%)
  • Professionals (7,796 males or 16.4%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 25,062 males in total or 52.6% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Northern Beaches Council area employed 17.9% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 4.7% in Machinery Operators And Drivers; and 27.4% in Professionals.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Liverpool City and Northern Beaches Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (16.5% compared to 4.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed as Labourers (10.8% compared to 6.4%)
