Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Northern Beaches Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (10,908 males or 15.7%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (10,571 males or 15.2%)
- Financial and Insurance Services (5,792 males or 8.3%)
In combination, these three industries employed 27,271 males in total or 39.2% of the total employed male resident population.
In comparison, Western Sydney (LGA) employed 14.1% in Construction; 8.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 5.1% in Financial and Insurance Services.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Northern Beaches Council area and Western Sydney (LGA) were:
- A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (15.2% compared to 8.1%)
- A larger percentage of males employed in financial and insurance services (8.3% compared to 5.1%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (4.0% compared to 9.7%)

- Construction (+899 males)
- Financial and Insurance Services (+598 males)
- Health Care and Social Assistance (+548 males)
