Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Ku-ring-gai Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (6,057 males or 20.2%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services (4,018 males or 13.4%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,567 males or 8.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 12,642 males in total or 42.2% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Blacktown City employed 8.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 5.8% in Financial and Insurance Services; and 6.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Ku-ring-gai Council area and Blacktown City were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (20.2% compared to 8.3%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in financial and insurance services (13.4% compared to 5.8%)
