Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Western Sydney (LGA) in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (150,865 people or 13.7%)
- Retail Trade (106,548 people or 9.7%)
- Construction (98,786 people or 9.0%)
In combination, these three industries employed 356,199 people in total or 32.4% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, the City of Canterbury Bankstown employed 13.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.2% in Retail Trade; and 8.2% in Construction.
There were no major differences between Western Sydney (LGA) and City of Canterbury Bankstown in 2021.
