Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Western Sydney (LGA) in 2021 compared to Wollondilly Shire shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 40.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.5% were one-parent families, compared with 41.3% and 10.2% respectively for Wollondilly Shire.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 18.0% compared to 16.2% in Wollondilly Shire while the proportion of couples without children was 20.4% compared to 26.6% in Wollondilly Shire.
