Analysis of the car ownership of the households in the City of Canterbury Bankstown in 2021 compared to Western Sydney (LGA) shows that 82.0% of the households owned at least one car, while 10.9% did not, compared with 86.4% and 7.8% respectively in Western Sydney (LGA).
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 37.0% of the households owned one car; 29.4% owned two cars; and 15.6% owned three cars or more, compared with 34.2%; 33.6% and 18.7% respectively for Western Sydney (LGA).
