Dominant groups

Analysis of the country of birth of the population in Cranbourne East in 2016 compared to the City of Casey shows that there was a larger proportion of people born overseas, and a larger proportion of people from a non-English speaking background.

Overall, 39.6% of the population was born overseas, and 31.3% were from a non-English speaking background, compared with 38.2% and 31.1% respectively for the City of Casey.

The largest non-English speaking country of birth in Cranbourne East was India, where 11.0% of the population, or 2,445 people, were born.

The major differences between the countries of birth of the population in Cranbourne East and the City of Casey were:
