Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Claymore in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (40 males or 12.6%)
  • Manufacturing (37 males or 11.6%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (37 males or 11.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 114 males in total or 35.8% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Leumeah employed 12.8% in Construction; 12.6% in Manufacturing; and 11.7% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Claymore and Leumeah were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in financial and insurance services (5.3% compared to 2.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in accommodation and food services (6.6% compared to 4.5%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in retail trade (11.0% compared to 9.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in education and training (2.5% compared to 5.1%)
