The size of Campbelltown City's labour force in 2011 was 70,233, of which 19,247 were employed part-time and 43,966 were full time workers.

Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in Campbelltown City in 2011 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 92.6% of the labour force was employed (57.1% of the population aged 15+), and 7.4% unemployed (4.5% of the population aged 15+), compared with 94.3% and 5.7% respectively for Greater Sydney.
