Analysis of the type of internet connection of households in Hawthorn compared to the City of Boroondara shows that there was a lower proportion of households with either no internet connection or a dial up connection, as well as a lower proportion of households with broadband connectivity.

Overall 12.7% of households had no internet connection or a dial up connection, and 74.4% had broadband connectivity, compared with 14.2% and 77.3% respectively in the City of Boroondara.
