Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Regional QLD in 2021 compared to Greater Hobart shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 25.2% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.8% were one-parent families, compared with 25.8% and 11.8% respectively for Greater Hobart.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 23.4% compared to 26.6% in Greater Hobart while the proportion of couples without children was 27.3% compared to 26.8% in Greater Hobart.
