Dominant groups

The largest non-English speaking country of birth in Victoria was India, where 4.0% of the population, or 258,193 people, were born.

The major differences between the countries of birth of the population in Victoria and Australia were:

  • A larger percentage of people born in India (4.0% compared to 2.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of people born in United Kingdom (3.3% compared to 4.4%)
