There were more female clerical and administrative workers in Rural Balance in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Rural Balance in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (166 females or 24.7%)
  • Professionals (141 females or 21.1%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (107 females or 16.0%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 414 females in total or 61.8% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Thomastown employed 18.1% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; 18.0% in Professionals; and 20.2% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Rural Balance and Thomastown were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (24.7% compared to 18.1%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed as Managers (11.9% compared to 6.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Labourers (4.2% compared to 13.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (16.0% compared to 20.2%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed females in Rural Balance decreased by 25 between 2016 and 2021.
