Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Green Wedge in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (827 people or 20.7%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (517 people or 12.9%)
  • Education and Training (354 people or 8.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,698 people in total or 42.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Whittlesea employed 11.4% in Construction; 15.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.7% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Green Wedge and the City of Whittlesea were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (20.7% compared to 11.4%)
