Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in South Morang in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,004 people or 15.5%)
  • Construction (1,554 people or 12.0%)
  • Retail Trade (1,480 people or 11.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,038 people in total or 39.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Lalor employed 13.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.8% in Construction; and 10.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of South Morang and Lalor were:
