Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in South Morang in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,365 males or 20.3%)
  • Manufacturing (706 males or 10.5%)
  • Retail Trade (623 males or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,694 males in total or 40.0% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, the City of Whittlesea employed 18.9% in Construction; 10.9% in Manufacturing; and 8.4% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of South Morang and the City of Whittlesea were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (20.3% compared to 18.9%)
