Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Whittlesea in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (12,903 females or 25.7%)
  • Retail Trade (6,285 females or 12.5%)
  • Education and Training (6,111 females or 12.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 25,299 females in total or 50.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, South Morang employed 25.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.8% in Retail Trade; and 12.1% in Education and Training.

The major difference between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Whittlesea and South Morang was:

  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (12.5% compared to 13.8%)
