Dominant groups

Analysis of the female five year age groups of Lalor in 2021 compared to Epping North shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 17.9% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 20.1% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 26.4% and 6.0% respectively for Epping North.

The major differences between the female age structure of Lalor and Epping North were:

  • A larger percentage of females aged 75 to 79 (3.9% compared to 0.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 35 to 39 (7.7% compared to 11.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 5 to 9 (6.2% compared to 9.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of females aged 30 to 34 (7.8% compared to 11.3%)

From 2006 to 2021, Lalor's female population increased by 1,951 people (20.0%). This represents an average annual population change of 1.22% per year over the period.
