Dominant groups
Analysis of the female five year age groups of Epping in 2021 compared to the City of Whittlesea shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 16.2% of the female population was aged between 0 and 15, and 17.1% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 20.4% and 13.8% respectively for the City of Whittlesea.
The major differences between the female age structure of Epping and the City of Whittlesea were:
- A larger percentage of females aged 55 to 59 (7.5% compared to 5.3%)
- A larger percentage of females aged 60 to 64 (6.9% compared to 5.0%)
- A smaller percentage of females aged 5 to 9 (5.6% compared to 7.3%)

From 2006 to 2021, Epping's female population decreased by 476 people (6.1%). This represents an average annual population change of -0.42% per year over the period.
The largest changes in female age structure in this area between 2006 and 2021 were in the age groups:

- 65 to 69 (+255 females)
- 15 to 19 (-246 females)
- 60 to 64 (+243 females)
