In 2021, the largest age group in Epping was 35 to 39 year olds. The group that changed the most since 2006 was 35 to 39 year olds, increasing by 635 people.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the male five year age groups of Epping in 2021 compared to Mill Park shows that there was a higher proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 21.6% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 11.5% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 16.2% and 15.3% respectively for Mill Park.

The major differences between the male age structure of Epping and Mill Park were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 40 to 44 (7.9% compared to 5.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 60 to 64 (4.8% compared to 7.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 55 to 59 (5.4% compared to 7.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 65 to 69 (3.8% compared to 6.0%)

Emerging groups

From 2006 to 2021, Epping's male population increased by 6,691 people (67.0%). This represents an average annual population change of 3.48% per year over the period.

The largest changes in male age structure in this area between 2006 and 2021 were in the age groups:

  • 40 to 44 (+602 males)
  • 30 to 34 (+587 males)
  • 5 to 9 (+498 males)
