Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Rural West in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (128 females or 20.2%)
- Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (99 females or 15.6%)
- Education and Training (85 females or 13.4%)
In combination, these three industries employed 312 females in total or 49.3% of the total employed female resident population.
In comparison, South Gippsland Shire employed 23.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.2% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; and 12.2% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Rural West and South Gippsland Shire were:
- A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (15.6% compared to 10.2%)
- A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (6.2% compared to 4.7%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (20.2% compared to 23.8%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (4.4% compared to 6.9%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Rural West increased by 87 between 2016 and 2021.
There were no major differences in Rural West between 2016 and 2021.
