Analysis of the family blending in Rural West in 2021 compared to South Gippsland Shire shows that there was a higher proportion of step families as well as a higher proportion of blended families. Overall, 9.4% of total couple families with children were step families, and 2.0% were blended families, compared with 8.0% and 4.6% respectively for South Gippsland Shire.
There were a lower proportion of other families and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 0.0% compared to 0.6% in South Gippsland Shire while the proportion of intact families was 88.6% compared to 86.8% in South Gippsland Shire.
The number of couple families with children in Rural West increased by 20 between 2016 and 2021.
There were no major differences in Rural West between 2016 and 2021.
