Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Birkdale in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (885 females or 25.4%)
- Professionals (829 females or 23.8%)
- Community and Personal Service Workers (597 females or 17.1%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,311 females in total or 66.3% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, Victoria Point employed 25.3% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; 19.3% in Professionals; and 20.4% in Community and Personal Service Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Birkdale and Victoria Point were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (23.8% compared to 19.3%)
- A larger percentage of females employed as Managers (10.5% compared to 9.0%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (17.1% compared to 20.4%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Labourers (5.9% compared to 7.7%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed females in Birkdale decreased by 69 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in Birkdale were for those employed as:
- Sales Workers (-91 females)
- Professionals (+87 females)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (-73 females)
