Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Birkdale in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (715 males or 19.5%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (334 males or 9.1%)
  • Manufacturing (320 males or 8.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,369 males in total or 37.3% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Cleveland employed 19.1% in Construction; 6.6% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 10.1% in Manufacturing.
