Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Capalaba in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,360 people or 14.9%)
  • Construction (1,093 people or 12.0%)
  • Retail Trade (977 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 3,430 people in total or 37.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Ormiston employed 15.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.2% in Construction; and 10.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Capalaba and Ormiston were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (12.0% compared to 9.2%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in other services (5.0% compared to 3.0%)
