Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Ormiston in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (365 females or 23.8%)
  • Education and Training (226 females or 14.7%)
  • Retail Trade (168 females or 10.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 759 females in total or 49.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Victoria Point employed 25.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.8% in Education and Training; and 11.5% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Ormiston and Victoria Point were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (7.9% compared to 5.4%)
