Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Cleveland in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (666 males or 19.1%)
  • Manufacturing (351 males or 10.1%)
  • Retail Trade (293 males or 8.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,310 males in total or 37.6% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Sheldon employed 25.7% in Construction; 7.9% in Manufacturing; and 6.1% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Cleveland and Sheldon were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in accommodation and food services (5.5% compared to 2.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in financial and insurance services (2.7% compared to 0.0%)
