Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Thornlands in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,281 females or 24.9%)
  • Education and Training (669 females or 13.0%)
  • Retail Trade (611 females or 11.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,561 females in total or 49.8% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, North Stradbroke Island employed 15.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.2% in Education and Training; and 8.6% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Thornlands and North Stradbroke Island were:
