Dominant groups
Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in Cleveland in 2021 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:
- English (7,489 people or 47.2%)
- Australian (4,703 people or 29.7%)
- Irish (2,057 people or 13.0%)
- Scottish (2,003 people or 12.6%)
- German (984 people or 6.2%)
In combination these five ancestries account for 17,236 responses in total, or 108.74% of all responses.
The major differences between the ancestries of the population in Cleveland and Southern Moreton Bay Islands were:
- A larger percentage of people with English ancestry (47.2% compared to 45.1%)
- A larger percentage of people with Chinese ancestry (2.5% compared to 0.6%)
