Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Shire of Murray in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (1,244 males or 32.1%)
  • Machinery Operators And Drivers (899 males or 23.2%)
  • Labourers (512 males or 13.2%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 2,655 males in total or 68.5% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Rural Remainder employed 26.2% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 21.1% in Machinery Operators And Drivers; and 13.7% in Labourers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the Shire of Murray and Rural Remainder were:
