Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Shire of Murray in 2011 compared to Greater Perth shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 27.7% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 8.9% were one-parent families, compared with 31.6% and 9.9% respectively for Greater Perth.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 21.7% compared to 22.4% in Greater Perth while the proportion of couples without children was 33.5% compared to 25.7% in Greater Perth.
