Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Harkness in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (539 females or 21.4%)
  • Retail Trade (348 females or 13.8%)
  • Education and Training (326 females or 13.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,213 females in total or 48.2% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Fraser Rise employed 22.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.6% in Retail Trade; and 12.6% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Harkness and Fraser Rise were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.8% compared to 10.6%)
