Analysis of the car ownership of the households in Melton East in 2021 compared to Fraser Rise shows that 93.8% of the households owned at least one car, while 2.3% did not, compared with 95.4% and 0.9% respectively in Fraser Rise.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a larger proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 23.4% of the households owned one car; 42.8% owned two cars; and 27.6% owned three cars or more, compared with 24.0%; 50.3% and 21.1% respectively for Fraser Rise.
