Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in South East Precinct in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,146 people or 13.7%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (957 people or 11.5%)
  • Education and Training (896 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,999 people in total or 36.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Maribyrnong employed 10.7% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 12.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.3% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of South East Precinct and the City of Maribyrnong were:
