Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Kingston in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (643 people or 13.6%)
  • Manufacturing (525 people or 11.1%)
  • Retail Trade (482 people or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,650 people in total or 35.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Logan City employed 13.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.1% in Manufacturing; and 10.1% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Kingston and Logan City were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (11.1% compared to 9.1%)
