Dominant groups

Analysis of the language spoken at home by children aged 0 to 4 years in the City of Knox in 2021 compared to Australia shows that there was a smaller proportion of people who spoke English only, and a larger proportion of those speaking a non-English language (either exclusively, or in addition to English).

Overall, 65.2% of children aged 0 to 4 years spoke English only, and 31.2% spoke a non-English language, compared with 71.4% and 22.9% respectively for Australia.
