Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Gunnedah Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (578 females or 20.7%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (535 females or 19.2%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (491 females or 17.6%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,604 females in total or 57.5% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Regional NSW employed 24.2% in Professionals; 19.5% in Community and Personal Service Workers; and 19.2% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Gunnedah Shire and Regional NSW were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (4.4% compared to 1.4%)
