Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Gunnedah (South) in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Mining (529 males or 27.6%)
  • Construction (189 males or 9.8%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (146 males or 7.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 864 males in total or 45.0% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Gunnedah Shire employed 22.5% in Mining; 9.4% in Construction; and 17.4% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
