Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Central Coast Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (838 males or 16.7%)
  • Manufacturing (558 males or 11.1%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (488 males or 9.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,884 males in total or 37.5% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Regional TAS employed 15.0% in Construction; 10.8% in Manufacturing; and 11.3% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Central Coast Council area and Regional TAS were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (16.7% compared to 15.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in mining (4.3% compared to 3.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (9.7% compared to 11.3%)
