Dominant groups
Analysis of the families with children in Central Coast Council area in 2021 compared to Tasmania shows that there was a smaller proportion of couples with young children, and a similar proportion of couples with older children.
Overall, 11.7% of total households with children were couple with young children, and 7.8% were couples with older children, compared with 13.1% and 7.4% respectively for Tasmania.

Overall, the proportion of single parent households with young children was 4.1% compared to 4.5% in Tasmania while the proportion of single parent households with older children was 5.2% compared to 5.2% in Tasmania.
