Analysis of the unpaid child care provided by the female population in Fountain Gate Core Catchment in 2021 compared to Clyde North (Hardys to Pattersons) shows that there was a lower proportion of females who provided unpaid child care either to their own or to other children. Overall, 31.4% of the female population provided unpaid child care, compared with 45.6% for Clyde North (Hardys to Pattersons).
The major differences between the share of the female population providing unpaid child care in Fountain Gate Core Catchment and Clyde North (Hardys to Pattersons) were:
- A larger percentage who did not provide care for children (63.3% compared to 50.2%)
- A smaller percentage who provided unpaid childcare for own child/ren (23.6% compared to 37.9%)
