Dominant groups

Analysis of the female service age groups of Clyde in 2021 compared to Clyde North shows that there was a lower proportion of females in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) as well as a lower proportion of females in the older age groups (60+ years).

Overall, 29.1% of the female population was aged between 0 and 17, and 6.4% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 31.5% and 8.3% respectively for Clyde North.

The major differences between the female age structure of Clyde and Clyde North were:

  • A larger percentage of 'Young workforce' (28.2% compared to 21.0%)
  • A larger percentage of 'Babies and pre-schoolers' (12.5% compared to 10.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of 'Parents and homebuilders' (21.0% compared to 25.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of 'Primary schoolers' (11.1% compared to 13.7%)

Emerging groups

From 1996 to 2021, Clyde's female population increased by 5,292 people (1133.2%). This represents an average annual population change of 10.57% per year over the period.

The largest changes in the female age structure in this area between 1996 and 2021 were in the age groups:

  • Young workforce (25 to 34) (+1,557 females)
  • Parents and homebuilders (35 to 49) (+1,081 females)
  • Babies and pre-schoolers (0 to 4) (+688 females)
  • Primary schoolers (5 to 11) (+587 females)
