An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Casey in 2016 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Technicians and Trades Workers (22,513 people or 16.3%)
- Professionals (20,726 people or 15.0%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (20,137 people or 14.6%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 63,376 people in total or 46.0% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Mornington Peninsula Shire employed 17.7% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 18.8% in Professionals; and 12.0% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
