Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Harkaway in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (87 people or 16.6%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (61 people or 11.6%)
  • Retail Trade (53 people or 10.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 201 people in total or 38.3% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Casey Coast (region) employed 20.4% in Construction; 10.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 8.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Harkaway and Casey Coast (region) were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (5.3% compared to 2.6%)
