Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the City of Casey compared to Casey Foothills shows that there was a similar proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 5.5% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.0% for Casey Foothills.

The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in Casey Established and Casey Foothills were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (26.9% compared to 11.4%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (17.4% compared to 7.8%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 65 to 69 (7.8% compared to 1.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of males aged 85 and over (49.7% compared to 66.2%)

Emerging groups

The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2016 and 2021 in Casey Established were in the age groups:
