Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Wilson in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (480 people or 14.4%)
  • Education and Training (335 people or 10.1%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (298 people or 8.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,113 people in total or 33.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, East Cannington employed 14.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 4.8% in Education and Training; and 10.3% in Accommodation and Food Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Wilson and East Cannington were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (10.1% compared to 4.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (8.1% compared to 6.6%)
